“Care to Share” Card Appeal Supporting Children in Sichuan

He devastating Sichuan earthquake of May 2008 and resultant aftershocks claimed thousands of lives and left millions homeless.

To show these children that their counterparts in Hong Kong felt for their suffering and to send them our good wishes, LEAP, in partnership with Hong Kong World Vision, invited different local and international schools to participate in our “Care to Share” card appeal.

“A Spring Evening with Saint Saens” Charity Concert

The SAR Philharmonic Orchestra held a concert, entitled “A Spring Evening with Saint Saens”, in aid of Life Education Activity Programme (LEAP) on 22 April 2007 at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The concert featured Saint Saens’ Violin Concerto No. 3 in B minor, Op. 61, with US violinist Ms Danwen Jiang; and Symphony No. 3 Op.78, popularly known as the “Organ Symphony”.

Commissioning of the Sixth Life Education Centre

The official launch of LEAP's sixth mobile Life Education Centre, generously funded by the Jockey Club Charities Trust, was held on 15 March, 2007, at the C.P.C. Yao Dao Primary School in Tin Shui Wai, New Territories.

Parent Programme Launch

LEAP's new “Safe and Successful” Parent Programme was officially launched at a seminar held on 24 November 2006, at the Salesian Yip Hon Millennium Primary School in Kwai Ching, New Territories, attracting some 300 parents and teachers.
