History

Life Education Activity Programme (LEAP) was established in Hong Kong in 1994 to provide positive and sequential health-based drug prevention programmes to kindergarten, primary and secondary students, including those in Special Needs Schools. LEAP served over 110,000 students annually, including over 5,000 students with special needs.  LEAP also runs a Parent Programme which aims at equipping parents with skills to help their children establish correct values and to prevent substance abuse. To date, LEAP has provided programmes to over 2.2 million students and 100,000 parents.

LEAP’s programmes are endorsed by the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Education Bureau, the Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau and the Tobacco and Alcohol Control Office of the Department of Health.  Swire has been a major sponsor of LEAP almost since its inception.

LEAP has over 10 educators.  All of our educators are holders of a bachelor degree or higher qualifications from a local or overseas university.  Their fields of study may be different but they all share a common passion for our health-based drug prevention education programme which also stresses social competency skills.
