【Media Feature】RTHK Visits LEAP’s Mobile Classroom to Explore School-Based Tobacco Control Education
Life Education Activity Programme (LEAP) is dedicated to advancing tobacco control education in schools through dynamic and interactive learning experiences. Our programmes equip students with a clear understanding of the dangers of smoking and alternative smoking products, empowering them to make informed, healthy choices.
With Hong Kong’s new regulation—effective April 30—banning the possession of alternative smoking products (including e‑cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and herbal cigarettes) in public places, LEAP remains committed to strengthening school-based preventive education to protect student health at its core.
We sincerely thank the Tobacco and Alcohol Control Office (TACO) of the Department of Health for their ongoing support and sponsorship. Through TACO’s coordination, RTHK TV 31’s “Government and You” recently visited Ma Tau Chung Government Primary School (Hung Hom Bay) to observe a LEAP preventive education session inside our mobile classroom. During the feature, Joyce Liu, our Head of Education, shared valuable insights on the challenges students face today with smoking and alternative smoking products, helping the public better understand the significance and real needs of school-based preventive education.
